Read Across America Door Decorating Contest

This month students and teachers collaborated in designing and creating beautiful classroom doors to bring the spirit of Read Across America to Gage!  All of the particpating classes devoted time, effort, and hard work to celebrate literacy by working together!! We are EXTREMELY proud of EVERY single class; they sure made it VERY difficult to select ONLY three winners.  We are very grateful for their participation because they ALL contributed something special to our school!

    Mr. Campos

    Mr. Gutierrez

    Ms. Diaz

    Ms. Feld

    Ms. Hayes

    Ms. Mariano

    Mr. Loera

    Ms. Segura

    Ms. Siordia

And... a special mention for Ms. Alvizo, our GEAR UP 4 LA Coordinator, who also showed her Read Across America Spirit by decorating her Office Door!!!

    No One Eats Alone 2019

    Beyond Differences

This month students met in the library to learn about the importance of acceptance and inclusion.  These courageous students took on a leadership role and went back to their Academy classes to lead an activity with their peers. We are very proud of these wonderful students who took on this challenge!

  • Dr. Martin Luther King

Posted by Erika Reyes on 1/21/2019

This month we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday; a civil leader who made history by standing up for what is right even if it wasn't easy to do. We will always remember him, his conviction, and his triumphs!

Here are a couple of his most famous quotes...

"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."
